Chinese New Year, is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is commonly called "Lunar New Year" The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month in the Chinese calendar and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day. Singapore celebrates the Chinese New Year, one of the biggest and most popular festivals of the year, in style with flamboyant festivals, cultural shows and colourful performances. A time for a fresh start, the festival also heralds the imminent arrival of spring and creates a great atmosphere throughout Singapore. Chinatown is ablaze with colourful light displays in the weeks leading up to the big day and is a great place to soak up the excitement of the festivities. On the New Year's Eve things really heat up with huge crowds turning out to watch the spectacle and countdown to midnight after which the partying continues into the small hours.They will also vists thier reletives house.They will also bring two with them and in return they will get a red packet.
